Compared to steel (traditional injection mould), aluminium offers the advantage of improved processing speed, shorter delivery times, excellent thermal conductivity and, consequently, a simpler conditioning system that allows shorter moulding cycle times, faster speeds and lower structural loads on the machine in addition to cost savings of up to 30%.
The only disadvantage is the mould durability because, being made of aluminium, it has a shorter life span than a steel injection mould.
The main advantages of aluminium moulds for plastic injection are
Mould cost savings of up to 30%
Faster mould delivery time
Lower cycle time
Better cooling
Possibility of making parts with complex geometries
Low production cost per part
High process automation
Possibility of producing very small parts
The moulds can be used with plastic materials of different types and properties
Possibility of moulding in combination with metal inserts
Production of products with different colours
